Last Updated: September 2026 — Season 3, Patch 26.17

Getting five League players free on the same night is already the first boss fight. The LoL Clash schedule 2026 gives you 12 weekends to work with—six on Summoner's Rift and six in ARAM—so nobody has to discover the date from a Discord ping two hours before lock-in.

The next event is the Summoner's Rift Bandle City Cup on September 19–20, with team formation opening September 14. This guide has every confirmed date, the ticket and lock-in rules that actually matter, and a two-week practice plan your team can finish.

Quick answer: Team formation opens on the Monday before each Clash weekend. Saturday and Sunday are separate eight-team tournaments, and your exact regional lock-in time appears in the League client. Riot warns that dates can move, so treat the in-client Clash tab as the final call.

LoL Clash Schedule 2026: All Dates

Riot's official Clash FAQ{:target="_blank"} lists one tournament weekend in every month of 2026. Team formation begins on Monday; brackets run Saturday and Sunday.

| Clash event and map | Team formation | Tournament days |
|---|---:|---:|
| Demacia Cup · Summoner's Rift | January 19 | January 24–25 |
| Ionia Cup · ARAM | February 16 | February 21–22 |
| Noxus Cup · Summoner's Rift | March 16 | March 21–22 |
| Ixtal Cup · ARAM | April 13 | April 18–19 |
| Zaun Cup · Summoner's Rift | May 4 | May 9–10 |
| The Void Cup · ARAM | June 15 | June 20–21 |
| MSI Cup · Summoner's Rift | July 13 | July 18–19 |
| Bilgewater Cup · ARAM | August 17 | August 22–23 |
| Bandle City Cup · Summoner's Rift | September 14 | September 19–20 |
| Piltover Cup · ARAM | October 12 | October 17–18 |
| Worlds Clash · Summoner's Rift | November 16 | November 21–22 |
| Freljord Cup · ARAM | December 14 | December 19–20 |

The alternation matters. Summoner's Rift Clash uses a competitive draft and requires recent Ranked placements. ARAM Clash skips that placement requirement and trades the draft plan for a much wider champion-readiness problem.

At publication, live servers are on Patch 26.17{:target="_blank"}. Riot's 2026 patch schedule{:target="_blank"} plans Patch 26.18 for September 10, nine days before Bandle City Cup. Do not lock your final picks and bans before reading that update.

How League of Legends Clash Works

Clash is a tournament for a premade team of five. Each day puts you into a single-elimination eight-team bracket, so a perfect run is three wins. Lose the opener and Riot still gives you consolation matches that can improve your reward.

Saturday and Sunday are independent. You can enter either day or both, but one team can join only one bracket per day. Your roster stays locked for that bracket, then you can use the same five or rebuild for the next day.

Summoner's Rift Clash eligibility

Every player needs to meet Riot's account checks before lock-in:

  • Account level 30 or higher
  • Ranked placements completed in a Summoner's Rift queue during 2025 or 2026
  • Clash SMS verification with an eligible mobile or prepaid number
  • A complete five-player roster
  • At least one Basic or Premium Ticket submitted per player

ARAM and ARURF Clash still require level 30 and SMS verification, but Riot does not require Ranked placements for those modes. Riot also says Clash has no general Honor Level restriction.

Clash lock-in times by tier

There is no universal clock time to copy from another server. Your region sets the window, while your team tier controls how much of it you can use.

| Team tier | Lock-in access |
|---|---|
| Tier IV | Full two-hour regional window |
| Tier III | Opens 30 minutes after Tier IV |
| Tier II | Opens 30 minutes after Tier III |
| Tier I | Final 30 minutes only |

SEA works differently: Riot says every tier can lock in one hour before Clash begins. Open the Clash tab early and trust its countdown over a screenshot from another region.

If your five have a wide skill gap, expect the strongest player to pull the team tier upward. Riot weights the higher-skilled accounts more heavily rather than taking a simple average.

Clash Tickets: Basic vs Premium

A Basic Ticket and a Premium Ticket enter the same bracket. Premium does not improve matchmaking, draft order, or your chance to win—it only upgrades that player's potential reward pool.

| Ticket | Entry | Reward track |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | Standard Clash bracket | Clash Orb |
| Premium | Same Clash bracket | Upgraded Clash Capsule |

Ticket choice is individual. Five teammates can use different types, and one player can offer a Ticket to another roster member. Basic Tickets are available through missions, teammates, or the store with Blue Essence or RP; Premium Tickets cost more RP.

Once the complete team locks in, the selected Ticket cannot be changed for that bracket. Rewards scale with your total wins and losses, which is why playing the consolation side after an 0–1 start still matters.

If the missing piece is a reliable fifth—not another last-minute LFG gamble—find a League teammate on Tapin. Pick for role, rank, schedule, and comms, then practice together before tournament night.

Two-Week Clash Team Prep Plan

The September cup gives teams a clean runway: Patch 26.18 is planned for September 10, team formation opens September 14, and Bandle City Cup begins September 19. Use the same countdown for later events.

| Timing | Team job | Done when… |
|---|---|---|
| T–14 to T–11 | Confirm all five roles and one backup player | Everyone accepts both tournament times |
| T–10 to T–8 | Build two comfort comps | Each player has two realistic picks per comp |
| Patch day | Read role, champion, item, and rune changes | Any changed pick gets tested, not assumed |
| T–7 | Create the in-client team | Tier, SMS, Ranked eligibility, and Tickets show ready |
| T–6 to T–4 | Play one focused five-stack block | Team reviews first objective and first lost fight |
| T–3 to T–2 | Practice one blind side and one red side draft | Captain has a short ban order and fallback plan |
| T–1 | Patch clients, test voice, confirm food and start time | All five can join 30 minutes before their window |

I believe two practiced comps beat five separate tier-list picks. Give each comp a sentence: “front-to-back around our ADC” or “pick through fog, then start objective.” If nobody can say how the draft wins, the draft is not ready.

Clash Scouting, Draft, and Team Comms

Riot's scouting page shows opponents' common Ranked champions, win rates, KDAs, mastery, and prior Clash information. Do not spend the timer reading five profiles aloud. Assign one person to find narrow champion pools and another to flag role swaps.

Summoner's Rift Clash uses two ban phases and two pick phases, and the captain controls the bans. Every champion is unlocked for Clash draft, so ownership does not block a pick or trade.

Prepare three things before the first scout screen appears:

  1. One blind pick: a champion your team can reveal without collapsing the draft.
  2. Two fallback picks per role: one-tricks are easy to attack once their history is visible.
  3. A ban rule: remove a genuine comfort pick before copying the current Patch 26.17 tier list{:target="_blank"} with no matchup plan.

Call only information that changes the decision: “mid is a Viktor one-trick,” “they flex this top,” or “save third ban for support.” Five people narrating profiles burns the only scouting window you get.

Champion select has one nasty edge case: if you fail to declare or hover, Clash can lock a random champion. Say “hover now” before every pick, then have one player confirm the trade—not five people talking over the countdown.

Keep in-game calls just as tight:

  • Objective caller: decides contest, trade, or leave
  • Fight caller: names the first target or disengage
  • Jungle timer: tracks major neutral objectives
  • Everyone else: reports cooldowns, summoners, and missing threats

The captain does not need to make every call. They already own bans; spread the cognitive load before Game 1.

Clash Tournament-Day Checklist

Run this check before anyone presses lock-in:

  • All five players are online inside the correct tier window
  • Every account shows level, Ranked, and SMS eligibility
  • Each player has submitted the intended Ticket
  • Client updates and voice chat are working
  • Captain has the two draft plans and ban priorities open
  • Every player has hovered a champion before each lock
  • The team has time for up to three games
  • Nobody leaves after an opening loss; consolation wins improve rewards

Riot disables /pause and /remake in Clash. Hardware, internet, food, and bathroom problems need solving before the bracket starts.

For bot-lane teams building one reliable lane plan, our best bot lane duos for Patch 26.17 gives six pairings with comms and matchup tradeoffs. Bring a practiced pairing, not two champions your players first-timed because a graphic called them S-tier.

LoL Clash Schedule FAQ

When is the next League of Legends Clash in 2026?

The next scheduled tournament is the Summoner's Rift Bandle City Cup on September 19–20, 2026. Team formation opens September 14; confirm the final date and regional timer in the League client.

What time does Clash lock-in start?

Exact times vary by region and team tier. Tier IV gets the full two-hour regional window, Tier III opens 30 minutes later, Tier II another 30 minutes later, and Tier I gets the final 30 minutes. SEA gives all tiers a one-hour window.

Do I need Ranked placements for Clash?

Summoner's Rift Clash requires placements in a Summoner's Rift Ranked queue during the current or previous year. ARAM and ARURF Clash do not require Ranked placements, but level 30 and SMS verification still apply.

Is a Premium Clash Ticket better than a Basic Ticket?

Premium upgrades your personal prize pool; it does not change the bracket or make matches easier. Teammates on the same roster can choose different Ticket types.

Can I play Clash on only one day?

Yes. Saturday and Sunday are separate tournaments. You can enter one or both, and the Sunday roster can differ from Saturday as long as every player is eligible.

The LoL Clash schedule gives you the dates. The part that wins games is simpler: five reliable players, two practiced drafts, one clear caller, and no tournament-night surprises.

Lock the September roster now, test it after Patch 26.18 lands, and arrive before the client's timer starts blinking red.
