Build a Black Temple-Ready Roster
There is no useful universal gear number for every class, spec, and assignment. Build readiness around four layers instead.
Access
Both attunements are confirmed. No “almost done,” no missing Vials turn-in, and no player hoping a summon bypasses the requirement.
Role ownership
Every raider knows their main job and one backup job. Tanks have assignments. Healers know how major cooldowns are divided. Interrupts, dispels, and other utility are owned before the countdown.
Resources
Repair, clear bags, bring the consumables your raid requires, and finish intended enchants or gems. Phase 3 adds epic gem access, but a clean raid night starts with the upgrades you already control.
Calls
Name the pull caller, the person who ends a doomed attempt, and the person who summarizes the change after a wipe. Three voices doing the same job is not extra leadership. It is noise.

A progression review needs evidence and one next action.
Use this loop:
- Name the event that ended the pull.
- Assign one correction.
- Confirm who owns it.
- Pull again while the lesson is fresh.
“We need to play better” gives nobody a job. “Group two moves on the first call; Daren owns the backup interrupt” is usable.
Keep common calls short:
- Move: go to the named position now.
- Stop: stop damage or stop the cast now.
- Save: hold the named cooldown for the next event.
- Reset: end the attempt and prepare the next pull.
- Same plan: no new speech; repeat the pull with the agreed correction.

Phase 3 Netherwing, Epic Gems, and Arena Season 3
Black Temple is the headline, but Phase 3 gives your non-raid sessions clear work.
Netherwing reputation
Netherwing Ledge in southeastern Shadowmoon Valley is the new daily hub. Blizzard says players can use daily quests and Netherwing Egg turn-ins to build reputation. At Exalted, the drake rewards also require Artisan Riding and completion of the Blood Oath of the Netherwing questline.
Epic gems
Blizzard lists two raid sources: mining nodes inside the Battle for Mount Hyjal at 375 Mining, and rare drops inside Black Temple. Jewelcrafting designs are sold by Indormi inside Hyjal.
That makes professions a team-planning question, not just an auction-house question. Know who can mine, who can cut the needed gems, and how the group handles materials before loot starts moving.
Arena Season 3
Arena Season 3 starts September 1 with regional weekly resets. Blizzard also confirms that leftover Season 2 Arena Points convert to Honor at a 1:10 rate, Season 2 gear moves to Area 52 vendors at a discount without a rating requirement, and Season 1 gear moves to Honor vendors.
If your team plays both raid and arena, split the schedules. A progression night and a rating night demand different rosters, energy, and review habits.

One clean raid night is good. A group that returns next reset is the real win.
Before you commit, confirm the raid target, start and end time, voice expectations, loot rules, and whether the group is learning or clearing. Then give the same roster enough pulls to prove it can adjust.
