Valorant Rank Distribution in 2026
The table uses vstats.gg’s global PC Competitive snapshot for August 9, 2026. Its sample comes from matches available through Valorant’s API, not every account in existence, so read the hundredths as a current estimate rather than a permanent census.

The final column means that tier or higher. A Diamond player is above roughly 83% of tracked players. An Ascendant player is inside the top 6.67%, while Radiant sits in a completely different neighborhood at about five players per 10,000 in this snapshot.
The biggest individual division is Gold 1 at 8.53%. Add every Iron, Bronze, and Silver division together and you get 45.01%, so the 50th-percentile line falls inside Gold 1 in the vstats sample.

That’s why “Gold is low elo” is a useless way to talk about the ladder. Gold 1 is close to the median player. The skill gap from Gold 1 to Ascendant 1 is still huge, but Gold isn’t the bottom of the population—it’s the middle.
What Is the Average Valorant Rank?
There are two honest answers.
The most common tier is Silver at 21.71%. The median tracked player in the primary snapshot lands in Gold 1, because 45.01% of players sit below Gold and Gold 1 adds another 8.53%.
Another live source, Valking’s August 9 distribution, puts Silver at 22.3% and its median in Silver 3. The disagreement is small enough to tell us something useful: the average Valorant rank sits around high Silver to low Gold, depending on the tracker population and refresh time.
Your region can move that comparison again. A global table blends different servers, and Immortal and Radiant use regional RR thresholds and leaderboards. Use rank distribution to understand the shape of the ladder—not to claim that one RR gain moved you exactly 437,000 places worldwide.
Valorant Rank Percentiles Explained
Players usually want a cleaner answer than nine tier percentages. Here are the checkpoints that matter:
- Top 50%: roughly Gold 1 in the primary snapshot
- Top third: Platinum 1 or higher
- Top 17%: Diamond 1 or higher
- Top 6.7%: Ascendant 1 or higher
- Top 1.2%: Immortal 1 or higher
- Top 0.05%: Radiant
These are tier floors, not exact division cutoffs. Diamond 3 is much rarer than Diamond 1, even though both wear the same color family on a summary table.

Iron through Bronze: remove the free losses
Don’t build a 30-minute aim routine while your team force-buys four different weapons. Track deaths while moving, rounds where you broke the team economy, and fights where nobody could trade you.
Silver through Gold: make your mechanics usable
This is the center of the Valorant rank distribution, so generic advice hits a wall fast. Pick one agent per map, learn two reliable pieces of utility, and enter fights close enough for the second player to trade.
Platinum through Diamond: fix decisions after contact
Your opening plan matters less if the team keeps running it after the first kill changes the round. Review who had the advantage, what information was available, and why the team gave that advantage back.
Ascendant and above: repeat tiny edges
At the top 6.67%, “aim better” isn’t a weekly goal. Track one map-specific pattern: your first defensive rotation, your conversion rate after first blood, or the number of 5v4s lost to solo peeks.

How RR and MMR Affect Your Climb
Valorant is on Patch 13.02 and V26 Act 4 as of this update. The official 13.00 notes started Act 4, adjusted RR calculations for consistent winners, and made each PC team’s average rank more likely to land within one sub-tier of the other team.
Riot’s current RR calculation guide names four main inputs: match outcome, round differential, individual performance, and convergence between visible rank and hidden MMR. Winning or losing matters most. A 13–2 also moves RR more than a tight 13–11, while individual performance has a smaller effect.

If your MMR is above your visible rank, you should gain more RR on wins and lose less on defeats. If it’s below your rank, the opposite happens. That’s convergence—not proof the game secretly chose your account for punishment.
The practical response is boring and effective: win more rounds over a meaningful sample. Chase better decisions, not one huge ACS game in a loss.
Why Two Valorant Rank Trackers Show Different Numbers
Riot explains the ranked system, but the live percentage tables come from third-party tracker samples. Those samples can differ in three normal ways:
- Player coverage: each tracker sees a different set of accounts and matches.
- Refresh time: promotions and demotions keep moving the curve.
- Platform and region filters: PC, console, global, and regional views are not interchangeable.
Vstats puts Platinum or higher at 33.34%; Valking’s current page puts it at 28.2%. That gap is too large to hide, so we’re not pretending one decimal is universal truth. The stable conclusion across both sources is the part worth using: Silver and Gold form the center, Diamond is well above average, and Immortal is rare.
